Router Problems

Hello,
I am trying running fedora 7 as a router on my network. I tried following the information I found on this site: http://www.linux.com/articles/113821 It worked for about 10 minutes then stopped. I tried ips going through it and no luck. I double checked the port forward section in the /etc/sysctl.conf. I ran "service network restart" but in the output from this command it says "Disabling IPv4 packet forwarding: net.ipv4.ip_forward = 0" even though I set it to 1. Any ideas on this?

Thanks
