Exclamation whoch verison i386 or x86-64

ok i had a problem when i installed fedora 6 and just gave up. I have a pentium 4 hyper threading. Now although it is not a dual pro. it simulates a dual pro. When you look at systems info tools(3rd party) it sees to processors. now what should i install the i386 or the x86-64.

Hello:
You should install i.386

Because your processor has hyper-threading it will take advantage of the smp kernel features.

Hello:
No offense taken

If you are still unsure, then please post the details of your processor [CPU].
Exact model etc. with a link to the specs.

Thanks

Your processor appears to be a p4 521, that means it is one of the earlier p4's and is 32bit architecture. So, it follows you would need the 32bit fedora 7. Not the x86_64 version. Here's the breakdown from intel.

The problem with FC6 misidentifying your architecture as i586 when it was supposed to be i686 was a known FC6 bug. It has not, to my knowledge, appeared in Fedora 7.

Oh, just so you are aware. The smp version of fedora no longer exitsts. The features of the smp versions designed to take advantage of dual core and hyperthreaded cpu's was built into a standard distro. It just turns it's self off if you have a single core cpu.
