fedora 8 madwifi issues?

I installed the madwifi packages for fc8, but when i use system-config-network, It doesn't recognize any atheros card. has anyone gotten the madwifi package working in fc8? how did you do it? madwifi worked easily in fc7.

I tried installing kmod-madwifi-2.6.23-0.222.rc9.git4.fc8 and related packages.

Hello as far as i can tell the new madwifi driver (no hal)is already installed in the kernel and isnt working very well at the moment (for me)(very experimental) you will probably need to remove/ban that first.

As this is a Beta release, your best bet would be to ask in the devel forum....

try to add 'blacklist ath5k' to /etc/modprobe.conf it worked for me with the madwifi drivers from freshrpms.
