Startup programs for KDE

How do i make programs automatically startup? I'm trying to make beryl start. i thought i would have to make shortcuts in /.kde/Autostart/. i did that. i put in beryl-manager and beryl... beryl-manager starts but the decorator doesnt. it should work because when i double click on it it will then work. but im not sure why it doesnt start at startup.
