Problem with pup and pirut

All of a sudden, pup and pirut stopped working. When starting them, nothing happens for a while (2 minutes), then they display a "configuration error"without any additional details. No crash occurs and "yum update" works correctly.

Any ideas ?

same problem here!
I have disabled all additional installed plugins (fastest mirror, protectbase), but no effect...
YUM is working just fine.

Obviously as long as yum still works, it's not the end of the world

I was wondering if there was specific pirut/pup configuration somewhere that could cause this. I did reinstall pirut using yum, but without any improvement. I did one specific thing yesterday: uninstall my CrossOver trial [but as I did it as a regular user, I don't understand how it could cause this issue].

Today? My guess is that the repos are gearing up for the release of Fedora 8 Test 3 later this morning. However, I *could* be a total idiot in that those repos may have nothing to do with F8T3.

Pirut Problem

I am using FC7. When I try to use Pirut, it doesn't do anything for a very long time and then it gives me an error. The error says "Can not start due to a configuration error, Details: None". I have tried reinstalling Pirut but it doesn't do any good at all. Yum still works fine when I do not try to use Pirut. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this problem?

Thanks,
Sam

Same problem here, also "system-install-packages" does not work anymore while yum is still functional.

I would say that you are correct. Often times when there's a yum error patience and waiting a short while magically resolves the issue.

I just started experiencing the same thing. Yum is working, but not Pirut. When I launch Pirut as a normal user, I get prompted for the root passwd... authenticate and then nothing.

A ps aux shows pirut running, but nothing happens....still researching.
