Hardware issue with kernel?

I recieve the following on boot when trying to install, anyone know what it means and how to fix it?

Code:
MP-BIOS Bug: 8254 Timer not connected to IO-APIC
(Samsung R20 laptop btw, with Core 2 Duo)

A message on an Ubuntu forum says to add the "noapic" option to the kenel options in /boot/grub/grub.conf. To do this, you will have to use the install cd to boot the rescue mode if you can't boot normally.
