widgets in linux

hi all
in windows machine there are some widgets like yahoo....
is it possible to make widgets in linux..
if yes how can i?
any example for this plaezse show me the way?

Hallo munna_dude

no Idea how it works on Gome. In KDE you can use SuperKaramba:

Open a terminal
become root: su-
yum install kdeutils

or yum groupinstall "KDE (K Desktop Environment)" If you didn't install KDE before.

afterwards load KDE and look in: Start Menu > Utilities > Desktop > SuperKaramba
