KDE - Control Center

Hi all,

I want to remove access to the control center for my users as I do not want them going in there and changing visual appearances like themes, wallpaper, screensaver etc etc (am using KDE). Doing an 'ls' gives me the following information.

ls -al /usr/bin | grep kcontrol
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 42920 2007-05-18 05:42 kcontrol
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3196 2007-05-18 05:42 kcontroledit
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 2007-09-28 10:22 kinfocenter -> kcontrol

Now I admit i am not a Linux expert. Would the easiest way to do this simply be to change the permissioning on kcontrol to 754 and removing access from Kmenu do the trick? Are there any implications of doing this?

If i ever needed the control center I could simply 'su' to root and then launch it via the command line.

Thanks

750 would be fine as well. I've not used kiosktool, but you might want to look into that as an administrative option.

Has kcontrol disappeared in the KDE distributed with Fedora 10?

yum -y install kcontrol
No package kcontrol available.

I still find it on my Red Hat 9.

I yummed kdeadmin, but it doesn't seem to install kcontrol, which it should provide at least as per:
------------
The KDE Control Center. also known as KControl, is the centralized settings manager for the KDE desktop environment. It is part of the kdeadmin package.

What gives?

Well, I found that kcontrol hasn't been yet ported to KDE 4.x, so only
systemsettings
is available

I want to be able to use KDE Control Center instead of SystemSettings because I noticed it's more of a standard (i.e.: theme installation etc) how can I download/get that?
