Post How to mount devices at startup?

I am a newbie in Linux. I used Fedora 7, but one day, when installing Windows XP again, I removed GRUB. I could repair but I decided to make a clean install of Fedora 7. But while configuring the partitions, I forgot to set the mount point of other FAT pertitons. Now, how can I mount a hard drive during startup? Please help.

Now I have to use mount command everytime to mount the HDD parts.

Pleeease help...

you will want to add that to your fstab file

Code:
su -
vi /etc/fstab
that is the file that tells your system what to mount at boot time. Be careful with it and make a backup before you mess with it

Code:
cp /etc/fstab /etc/fstab.backup

create a directory xxx
mkdir /mnt/xxx

write the following in the fstab file then type mount -a, it will mount the sda1 HDD in this case
/dev/sda1 /mnt/xxx vfat defaults 0 0

sda1 should be your HDD

Re: How to mount devices at startup?

I think this worked.
Code:
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/Movies ntfs defaults 0 0
Does this look right?
