realtek hda

Hello, I'm using Fedora 7 x86_64 on my ASUS A6M-Q024 and have question about sound card and it's configuration: driver for realtek hda (ALC660) is snd-hda-intel. I'm observing weird things: in alsamixer 34% volume is maximum, higher I can't hear anything; when it's something about 34% speakers noising like volcano :-) Below 34% sound generally is, but quality is rather not satisfying, this mean poor.. Plese help me and tell me: is this only solution for this sound card - only snd-hda-intel and nothing else? (I played with alsa mixer, this is not helping). thanks, for help and any sugestions. Kamil.
