I have an irritating problem - when I switch my printer on, it will print the first job fine. However, if I then for example opened up another file and sent that to the printer, it does not come out - until I turn the printer off and then back on again - at which point it comes out automatically after a few seconds. If I deliberately turn the printer off & on again before printing the 2nd document, it comes out fine as expected, this is independent of the application I'm using. This is very irritating and I'm sure it can't be good for the printer to be kept turned on & off!
It's a HP LaserJet 4000 TN connected to my laptop via a USB (PC) to Parallel (printer) cable and registered in CUPS as a local USB printer.
