How do I create a new session option in the login screen?

Hi all, I have tried googling but maybe I'm not searching for the correct phrases.

How do I go about creating a new session option in the login screen?

For example, at the moment I can choose Gnome, KDE, or XFCE, and I want to add another option for "Gnome without fglrx".

What files do I edit/add to do this?

(Once I know which files I think I know how to tell it to load X using a different X conf file)

If you want to add another session, you will need to add a file in either /usr/share/xsessions or /usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions depending on which login manager you use (gdm or kdm). When the login manager loads, it looks for the executable in the .desktop file and if found adds it to the list of available window managers.
