Yes. Once I reboot the X server says it cant start. Generates error log with above error. I have to reconfig the xserver to start with the NV driver and I'm back at square one.

Think you had a typo in your Yum command above. The kmod packages are named different:

yum list kmod*
Installed Packages
kmod-nvidia-96xx.i686 1.0.9639-1.2.6.22.4_65 installed

From the service control panel this is what I see:

nvidia.ko for kernel 2.6.22.4-65.fc7 was not found.
The nvidia-96xx driver will not be enabled until one is found.

Getting somewhere... the file currently exists at:

/lib/modules/2.6.22.4-65.fc7/extra/nvidia-96xx/nvidia.ko

I dont understand why it cant find it???

I found the problem! I was readying all the system logs and came across this:

Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 0000:01:00.0. Please try using pci=biosirq.
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: NVRM: Can't find an IRQ for your NVIDIA card!
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: NVRM: Please check your BIOS settings.
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: NVRM: [Plug & Play OS] should be set to NO
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: NVRM: [Assign IRQ to VGA] should be set to YES
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: nvidia: probe of 0000:01:00.0 failed with error -1
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: NVRM: The NVIDIA probe routine failed for 1 device(s).
Sep 6 12:57:15 localhost kernel: NVRM: None of the NVIDIA graphics adapters were initialized!

Made those changes in the bios and the driver is loading fine with the Nvidia logo....

New problem is the system hands hard when I enable desktop effects. No mouse. No control... guess thats a new thread.
