Xorg specifications for video drivers?

What webpage gives the specifications for the functions that a video driver must provide so that it works with the Xorg implementation of X Windows?

On the Xorg site, I can find proposals for a general purpose driver and an explanation of how video drivers work, but I haven't found the technical documentation for video drivers.
