Redhat Fedora 7 failed install on Dell 17xx laptop

Install Fedora7 -- on boot it hangs "Unpacking kernal" reinstall fails....

Sugestions? Fixes?
SuSE runs like a chanp, btw....

Rather run Fedora though.

Yes try a newer fedora at least FC6 for example. What are the hardware specs of your laptop ?

Sorry if I am sounding like a broken record but did you verify the ISO was good after the download by checking the SHA1SUM? Before you assume it is your machine check the ISO and the CD or DVD to make sure they are ok...

It very well could be more than that but it can't hurt to spend just a few minutes to verify the ISO and the media to rule them out as a possible cause
