Toolbar

My firefox crashed just a while ago, and I was prompted to fill out a bug report. After that, I was not able to open any other application, and my bottom toolbar went completely blank. I restarted my computer, only to find the same problem; however, at this time, I am able to open applications, though nothing shows on my toolbar (except trash can).

Here's a screenshot of the problem: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...reenshot-1.png

What can be done?

Edit: I was prompted by some report on the failure of 'nautilus' at about the same time. After looking it up, I can confidently presume it to be the source of the problem.

nautilus is the file manager, shouldnt be the source of the problem.

i'm guessing some parts of the toolbar got closed. right click on the toolbar and there should be something like add item (haven't used gnome in a while) or something like that. there you shoould be able to add stuff like the workspace switcher and the... windows thing... dunno how it's called, the place where buttons for windows go.

there's also a couple more modules in there you might find useful.

Hmm. I was able to restore the 'show desktop' function, but it's completely on the opposite side. And I'm still not able to view and alternate between any windows and applications without using alt-tab. But thanks for the advice: I found a few useful things to add to my toolbar.

Edit: After playing around with it a bit, I managed to restore everything back to normal. Thanks a lot.
