Photo Management software

I am looking for photo management software for Linux . For me , the single most important feature is the ability to catalog photos stored on CDs and DVDs, I have tried several applications but haven't found one that does this. Is there a linux app that will do this?

f-spot is great. I don't think it will index a collection on a bunch of discs though. You can skip copying everything over, but tracking which disc to insert might be a problem.

If you had the disk space you could tag photos in f-spot, then export that tag to a burned disc. Repeat as desired.

I looked at f-spot, kphotoalbum, digikam and a couple of others, none of them seem to do what I need. I have several years worth of photos on CDs and DVDs, I need to have an application that allows me to view thumbnails of these photos and to tell me which CD they are on.
