wireless no dhcp!

hi i decided to try out F7 (previously using SUSE 10 open) but i still cant get past this networking issue! i have a netgear usb wg111v2 so i installed it with ndiswrapper which went allright. i then modified a wireless config thingy(ifup scripty dodad) and put it in the right folder so i could use the gui thingy . i then got the thing that goes up in the right hand corner which lets u see networks around and connect to them. problem is that it won't work with dhcp . when i set it to static and manually input everything i can see winshares but firefox wont work. if i stuff around with the firewall and tick custom IP TAbles i can get google up, so i think it might be a firewall issue (dhcp doesnt work but iwlist wlan0 scan will work), unfortunately i don't know how to customise it. Help please.
