How to play DVDs with Fedora?

I cannot play my DVD in Fedora 7. It is totally updated and armed to the teeth. I got the livna repository and followed the commands on this website. http://www.gagme.com/greg/linux/f7-tips.php
Yet I still do not have support for my DVD. When I stick a DVD in, nothing shows up on my desktop.
When I check computer and click on my CDRW/DVD Drive I just get an error message Unable to mount media probably no dvd in drive when there is a dvd in the drive! If this helps I am trying to watch a DVD Video movie that was recorded on DVD-R, it was an indepedent/amateur movie. I can watch it on my DVD Player and on Windows XP but I really want to watch it in Fedora Linux so that I can just use Linux and nothing but Linux.
