software installer fails due to a ´configeration error´

i have no idea what i have done, but i cannot run add remove software or software installer, an error pops up that simply says ´cannot start due to a configeration error´ pretty vague, under ´details´ it says ´none´
i am completely at a loss, even with selinux disabled it has the same error, everything else is pretty stable, but i cannot install anything.
when trying to install via a terninal using yum i get the following error for whatever i am trying to install Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: skype, even when the programs have nothing whatsoever to do with skype. Skype is not installed on my machine.
i am very confused.

HELP!

Did you accidentally create a skype repo in /etc/yum.repos.d/

Anything mention skype in /var/cache/yum

After checking run: yum clean all

I'm not very experienced in using linux, so maybe I'm wrong. Do you have any internet connection??
I got this error yesterday, first I was worried about it, then I realized my modem had no power supply. I pulled it out because I worked with Windows before and I don't want to connect windows to the internet while my anti virus software is turned off.
So I plugged in the power supply connected to my router and then it worked. Sometimes solutions are simple,...
So make sure you got an internet connection.

Any other ideas? I checked to see if I had the skype repos and I did not.

Code:
# rm /etc/yum.repos.d/*skype*
rm: cannot remove `/etc/yum.repos.d/*skype*': No such file or directory
I still cannot update software and still get the Config error: Unable to start due to a configuration error message.

Oops. I spoke too soon. I ran the yum -y update and that identified the corrupted repos, which for me was a jlc repo. I removed that from /etc/yum.repos.d/ and all is well.

Thanks for the tips!
