php.ini changes won't stick

Hey team,

I've installed ISPConfig on my fedora server, working great. I want to use joomla for several of my hosted sites. On the installation precheck for joomla, i see that the php settings display_errors and magic_quotes_gpc are Off. I have set them to on in /etc/php.ini but they still come up off. They are set to on in my php.ini and are not commented out.
any ideas? I've been searching for hours.

thanks,
willieray

Even if they are set to ON in /etc/php.ini, joomla (or some other PHP software) could still override them by setting them manually. For example, something like this in php:
Code:
<?php
ini_set( "display_errors", "off" );
?>
could override your /etc/php.ini settings. You may want to see if joomla provides a method for going back and changing those settings...
