Fedora 7 and IntelliMouse

Running Fedora 7 on Compaq 1830 Presario Laptop
TouchPad works and IntelliMouse 1.1A PS/2 Compatible
has no effect in X11. Running GNOME 2.18

After I launch startX I can hear the HD click when the mouse buttons are pressed and when the mouse is moved. The TouchPad and buttons allow cursor control but the mouse offers no control.

Under Windows both the mouse and Touchpad work concurrently.

Protocols IMPS/2, Auto, IMPS/2 all seem to fail!

Is anyone using Fedora 7 and a IntelliMouse 1.1A PS/2 Compatible Mouse on a Laptop ?
Could you attach the appropriate section of your xorg.conf file ?

Have you tried other PS/2 mouse? I do not think that your PS/2 port is properly set. You may have to set both in the xorg.conf.
