IP packets lost with via-rhine based NIC

My integrated NIC got borked somehow during last weekend. During weekend I made few updates and few thunderstorms raged in the area (not at home at the moment to unplug all my systems.
When I ping my gateway (ADSL router) about 25-30% of packets get lost. Problem is not in TCP/IP or Ethernet level (speed/duplex). I checked dmesg it showed following:

eth0: Oversized Ethernet frame spanned multiple buffers, entry 0x6db67c length 78 status 8d00!
eth0: Oversized Ethernet frame c2fcc8c0 vs c2fcc8c

and few other similar entries with different values. I googled a little bit and found out that older version of via-rhine linux driver have had similar problems (FC2 era).

Same problem exists also in FC6 (my alternative OS. Worked perfectly last time I used...).

ipv6 is disabled (checked from gui)
.
The ADSL modem is ok, because other computers work fine.

Anybody else having same kind of issues?

The problem went away as mysteriously as it came. It seems that unplugging the power cord for over 30mins helped. This might be an EMI issue if the powersource is functioning on/over nominal maximum capacity...just quessing...

I have the same problem, but in FC8. Powering off didn't help at all. I suspect the driver is bad because I didn't have this problem in FC6 at all, everything worked perfectly right out of the install. I switched to an older PCI NIC I still had laying around and it installed without a hitch.

I'm going to try to install the FC6 version and see if it works.
