I'm not sure that you can't get it fixed without the new updates
but a CAT5 cable is not that heavy and it would be faster than reading through the 60-70 posts on this same topic in the last month.
you need the updates - so get them and then work on the wireless.
In a terminal program
su -
<rootpassword>
yum update yum pirut python autofs kernel --enablerepo=updates-testing
reboot
after rebooted, in a terminal program
yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing
automount is using cpu - you need the latest version
yum does the updates - there is a fixed version
yum uses python - there is a newer version
pirut is the gui updater - there is a newer version
kernel >=29 - fixes autofs, fixes wireless, fixes usb (maybe)
these will pull in any other needed deps.
After reboot the second yum update
will get all the bug fixes and you system will be stable
