commercials??

I am wondering if Fedora will ever consider doing media ads (like t.v.)?? I picture people walking around (they are all black and white, with chains around them, herded like cattle)
slowly one after another, some all of a sudden have the Fedora symbol appera on their cheek or forehead, and they change to color and the chains shatter simultainiously.... and they fly away and others begin to notice.... ("freedom")????!!!!

Sounds interesting, and effective.

However, even after you've made it past the planning, selling, organizing and contracting stages, then hiring the talent, catering to their whims, negotiating with various unions ... in general paying the massive production costs -- there still remains the problem of purchasing of the airtime.

So ... just how much money have you got?

You've got to remember that Fedora and Red Hat are related and Red Hat is the money-maker. Guess where the money for commercials will be spent!

Printed ads are a rather cheap alternative to TV-spots for marketing purposes. But even then, you need a good team that creates the campaigns, does the designs, the printing, the distribution of material.

Yep, sounds good.
One instant a chained Win power user and then POOF!
An instant free Linux Guru!

Then we could have 10's of thousands of posters asking how to do this--or that (for the thousandth time in separate posts and never using a search at all)--and why do I HAVE to use the cli?
Why is Fedora NOT as easy as the commercial shows or as easy as Winxx?

That might even drive ol Bob or rondinjin to drink one!

If Fedora ever decided to make printed ads I'd help design them for free. I'd do it just for fun. All I would ask for is credit for my work, other than that I'm free

For those who would like to help out, the starting point is here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate and here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join The project can always use talent and new ideas. (I have neither).
