Live USB Persistence

The FC7 Live CD transfers brilliantly (and simply) onto my 4GB USB stick.

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraLiveCD/USBHowTo

This is first time I tried this and once I'd figured out that it has to be FAT16 and boot enabled (and a particular command I have to issue at boot selection screen - adding "irqpoll" does the trick for me) it runs very well (I'm posting from it now.)

Now if only it retained the stuff I installed / changed....like Beryl for example..or my regional settings etc.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the Live USB persistent or are there plans in the works at all to release a persistent version?

Thanks.

It's on the roadmap. If you are interested in contributing, feel free to discuss this in the Fedora live cd list.

This is good to hear.

Presumably you mean this wishlist here:

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraLiveCD

I am no programmer, I'm relatively new to Linux and I bork my system regularly if I don't control my haste (!!).

But I'll get signed up to the list anyway....maybe I can help a little.

How would I contribute? I am no programmer, I'm relatively new to Linux and I bork my system regularly if I don't control my haste (!!). But then again I'm making myself sound like an ideal end-user cadidate for testing.
Yes, the wishlist has some of the plans. There are dozens of ways to contribute without being a programmer. See http://fedoraproject.org/join-fedora.html. Testing is one of the very important contributions.
