r40e keyboard problem on Fedora 7

Hello! I have just recently installed Fedora 7 on my ibm thinkpad r40e laptop. There seems to be a problem with both my keyboard and trackpoint. The keyboard is sometimes unresponsive and sometimes too responsive (when press a key, multiple instances of the letter is displayed). The trackpoint also is unresponsive at regular intervals (I move it for 1 sec, then it freezes, and then moves again for another sec). I tried using an external mouse and keyboard (via usb), and both seem to work fine. I used to have Fedora Core 6 on my system, and this problem was not present. Other posts (I even found a related problem in an Ubuntu forum) suggest that the problem may be with the kernel, as some people with r40e's testify that after upgrading their kernel they encounter the same problem as mine. My current kernel version is 2.6.21-1.3194.fc7. Any ideas as to how to solve my problem? Thanks!

Hello, I have some problem on my Ibm Thinkpad R40e. Problem maybe with ACPI on kernel, because boot kernel with param. "ACPI=off" >> problem not present with keyboard and trackpoint, but ACPI not functions ...

I have testing new configurations kernels ...
