FC7 won't install on SATA Raid ( Ati SB600 )

hello ,
as you see in the topic . i have downlaoded Fedora 7 today , burned on DVD and started installation .
I thought it hanged up in " Loading AHCI driver " screen, but numlock was responding, so i waited like 7~8 minutes, and it went on. But when it came to partition the hard drives, there is no hard drive in the list .

my system is :
Asus M2A-VM Mobo (Ati SB600 soutbridge)
2x Sata Seagate disks on raid 0 mode. (winxp is installed in, working fine) .

The dmraid driver in F7 supports the following fake-RAID formats:

# dmraid -l
asr     : Adaptec HostRAID ASR (0,1,10)
ddf1    : SNIA DDF1 (0,1,4,5,linear)
hpt37x  : Highpoint HPT37X (S,0,1,10,01)
hpt45x  : Highpoint HPT45X (S,0,1,10)
isw     : Intel Software RAID (0,1)
jmicron : JMicron ATARAID (S,0,1)
lsi     : LSI Logic MegaRAID (0,1,10)
nvidia  : NVidia RAID (S,0,1,10,5)
pdc     : Promise FastTrack (S,0,1,10)
sil     : Silicon Image(tm) Medley(tm) (0,1,10)
via     : VIA Software RAID (S,0,1,10)
dos     : DOS partitions on SW RAIDs

If Asus or ATI doesn't have Linux drivers for your board, you can't use the BIOS RAID setup.

I'm going on Asus support then, they had helped me many times before, and soon. what if i get drivers from Asus/ATI , how can i use them?

Asus did reply the mail , but its like a joke. they say they have seached using google etc, but nothing helpful .

i want to say , " dude ! I'm a linux user , i perfectly know how to do searches using google ! " .

so , i upgraded my PC and now bye bye fedora . This is the last time i bought something from ATI . last time i had problems with VGA and linux , and chose nVidia this time. i would not buy this Mobo if i knew it had ATI as south bridge , thought it was pure AMD chipset. i miss my Via board.

I came across this thread when looking for info on SB600 raid

I have a Biostar A770 with a SB600 south bridge, and dmraid sees my raid set as being pdc - Promise FastTrack... Which makes sense cause the bios raid setup utility is also a fasttrack setup thingy.

Perhaps your SB600 is the same?

Going to go and see now if I can install linux on it (currently configured as raid1 with windows partition)

At the risk of necroing a thread, I just went through this and while trying to figure out how to get it working found this post.

I use a Biostar A770 A2+ on one of my machines, and Biostar apparently saw it fit to modify the offset that RAID metadata is saved to on the drive.
