suspend/hibernate doesn't work in fedora7 with lenovo 3000N100 laptop

Hi,

I have been using the final release of fedora7 for quite some time. I have been hearing that work is in progress to get it to work. But there are no updates on this.
Richard Huges I guess is the man who is doing this stuff but that's his personal perspective.
What about the Fedora Developers ? Are they working on it. Or is it only dream to get suspend/hibernate work on my laptop with Fedora7 ?

Suspend/Hibernate works without any problem for me after unloading bugged firewire module.
Edit or create file
Code:
/etc/pm/config.d/unload_modules
and put this line into it:

Code:
SUSPEND_MODULES="iwl3945 mac80211 fw_ohci fw_core"
Maybe unloading wifi modules is not necessary. Without this resuming from hibernate or suspends ends with kernel panic.

OT: I'm looking for place where users can share linux experience with this (or others Lenovo 3000 series) laptop. Like this thread or http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=156470 . I spend a lot of time until I solved theese two issues so it would be nice two collaborate in some way.

I am using ipw3945. So I wrote
ipw3945 and ieee80211 at that place instead of iwl3945 and mac80211. But doesn't seem to work for me. During hibernate it says:
Suspending Consoles and stays right there until I hard shut it. And when I boot again it is a normal boot not a typical boot like it should be after a hibernation.
I have 07684KA model of 3000N100 if that matters.

Thanks

I have N100 0768BNG. Did you try this site? http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughs...end-debug.html Unfortunately there are too many configurations with this laptop. So try to determine hardware differences between my model and yours and then try to find another modules to unload before suspend.

I'm using these kernel modules. Maybe it will help.

I tried some things and I had similar troubles about stopping at "suspending consoles" when I have Network Manager service running. Try to stop this service also.

Okay.
I have tried alot of times to get iwl3945 working on my laptop but it doesn't seems to work for me. So I have to manage with ipw3945.
I did this to make hibernate work for me:
service ipw3945d stop
and then System -> Shut Down -> Hibernate.
This make the laptop hibernate and then when I reboot it loads the hibernated session. So this seems to work for now.
But with the same thing I can't make suspend work.
I am able to suspend the laptop but when I try to wake it from the suspend stage all I get on the screen is
"Lin" written in yellow color. Nothing else happens and I have to hard shut it and reboot it.

One more thing I would like to know is how can I automate the process of stopping services like network manager and ipw3945d when I do a hibernate/suspend. If that is possible then it will save alot of overhead for me.

Thanks for your replies.

Have you looked at suspend2?

I have it running with the latest FC7 kernels and it works great.
