Fedora 6 and 7 hang on installing bootloader

Hi, So I've got this IBM Netvista--P4 2.4 Ghz, 512MB. I've tried installing both 6 and 7, and both hang right at the end when it's installing the bootloader. The last time I tried doing this, I had two partitions, with Ubuntu on the other one. After waiting an hour or so I finally rebooted and went into Ubuntu. I then added the other partition to Grub's config file, but when I tried booting off of it, Grub said it couldn't see that partition.

Any suggestions?

You can try to grub-install from the rescue CD. Adapt to fit your Ubuntu dual boot grub config in as desired.

Keep in mind that Fedora by default sets up a separate /boot partition. Pointing grub at the LVM volume device won't work.
