Fedora 7 installation hangs at choosing keybord

Everytime I try to install Fedora 7 (and 6) the installation hangs at selecting keybord. Just after I choose the language.

I choose Dutch as installation language and several keybord options as V.S International, Dutch, V.S. English.

I also did the DVD test and the test said the DVD was ok. My windows xp installation on it runs fine. Even before the windows installation this problem occured!

Specs:
Intel P 4 2.0 Ghz
256 mb-ram
Maxtor 320 gb harddisk

the stage after choosing the language is to decide on how to partition hard disks. i guess you have ide.
do you have any unusual hardware in your system?
