Security and Privacy Sadly, malware, spyware, hackers and privacy threats abound in today's world. Let's be paranoid and secure our penguins, and slam the doors on privacy exploits.

I deleted Microsoft Outpoop 2003

After being full of security wholes even when patches were installed, and after reading on ZD net after the way Microsoft deal its crappy patches, I decided to be on the safe side to delete Microsoft Outpoop 2003. This e-mail application was the cause of some problems, despite having Norton Internet Security and other scanning tools.

I guess this MS stuff was built to be installed, deleted and resintalled to keep a mediocre performance, since it never was good at all anyway.

Good for you, fortunately that crap does not run in Linux (haven't tried but really don't care). I prefer to avoid Windows altogether though.

Joe.

That is exactly how I feel. Microsoft performance get worse with the years. See, I have Windows Vista Business for free from college, through the Microsoft MSDNAA Program, but I am not going to order or have any intention to use it.

I was reading news I receive from ZD Net, about Microsoft and its crappy patches etc. It was on the news yesterday. How they secretly work with stuff on their patches, so there is a lot more going on when they publish patches.
