Portable Media Player

Hello,

There is no player in Fedora 7 that is able to play media files like avi, vcd, dvd or mp3 etc. is there any player that is able to play all these file in rpm or in tar format that can be installed without internet support for library files. i want to add player and codecs in my source of fedora 7.

or if there are more than one file, then what are they. which are either portable or installed without downloading extra files from internet.

You have to download the files from the internet.

I think VLC might be able to do what you want. I believe it comes with its own set of codecs in the source, and it is able to play most everything. I have yet to come across a file VLC couldn't play.

If you look at the requirements for VLC (a very good player) it still needs libs to be downloaded. It is very tough to run ANY modern OS today without a internet connection.
