Angry Orinoco 2WIRE install dificulty

Been totally unsuccessful at trying to get my new "Drivers on CD" 2WIRE PCcard to work on my Compaq Evo N1020 laptop with fedora. Upgraded to 6 in hopes of finding better support. Tried in with old SuSe 9.2 Pro (card shows power and SuSe attempts to configure, but no com with 2WIRE modem. Put fedora 6 back up.

Oronoco CD with unit has Linux folder. ReadMe file gives instructions on building driver for kernels up to 2.4. Don't know where problem is, but think the process is less complicated. Would like to get fedora-specific step-by-step to create driver (assuming that no simple download is available).

If the thing works under ethernet and the WiFi is a dummy ethernet, it ought to boil down to an encription key, a patch to power the card, and configuring another ethernet for the card. My XP works either way with a Trendnet.

Any suggestions??
