What are the error message(s)? Do the folders /media/drive_d and /media/drive_e exist? I don't like that line that starts with LABEL=SWAP-sdb3. Doesn't look right. Here's my /etc/fsab for comparison:

[glenn@toshiba ~]$ cat /etc/fstab
LABEL=/1 / ext3 defaults 1 1
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/sda7 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/sda5 /media/fedora6 ext3 defaults 0 0
/dev/sda2 /media/vista ntfs-3g defaults 0 0

This is a Fedora 7 system.

yes both filenames they are available. Everything was fine. They were created the day that F7 was released. The resolution problem is fixed. The Nvidia drivers are running again normally. about this LABEL=SWAP-sdb3 swap swap defaults 0 0 I don't know I haven't changed anything lately from this file apart when I created the mounting.

Maybe this will Help: fdisk -l

Is this Fedora 7 or Fedora Core 6? Is NTFS-3G installed? rpm -q ntfs-3g
How about the output of ls /media ??

What about rpm -q ntfs-3g, which I think is a stock part of Fedora 7.

Ntfs -3g should be installed as I sad it worked from the data of the Fedora 7 released date. NTFS -3g was installed by default and worked fine untill today. when I boot back into fedora I will try to uninstall ntfs-3g and re install it.

Post the output of
dmseg | grep signal
dmesg | grep failed
dmesg | grep local

Another thought. Is there a backup of /etc/fstab in the /etc folder ??? Probably fstab~. Maybe you could compare the 2 files for clues as to what's happening here.

Those are typos. Should read
dmesg | grep signal
dmesg | grep failed
dmesg | grep local
