Fedora idea

Heres an idea to be floated across this board

fedora 7 is out ok... which means fedora 8 is on its way and eventually fedora 6 (which is what I'm running) will go end of life

Heres my idea... would it be possible 2 weeks before 6 goes end of life, to have all the updates included in the ISO files? that way , if I need to re-install 6, I dont have to worry about something going unsupported and breaking something else

Boris

hey its only an idea!

if you're worried about EOL stuff, then Fedora is not the build for you. Have you considered CentOS?

Hey Boris, I dont know about FC6 but in F7 you can do this yourself! Roll your own with Revisor. I have been playing a little myself and have perfected a Fedora utility disc sporting a bare bones XFCE install with just a small few apps. I am still working on trying to get it to boot quicker though. I hear rumors Leigh has a real nifty everything distro floating in cyberland somewhere. Man, I wish I had a better in ternet connection...

Name what you need and I could download / burn / ship it to you if it's really that bad.

Hi Boris,

What I usually do when a system I especially like, (like FC6) is reaching EOL, I wait until the final updates have been posted, then order a complete disk set, including extras and updates, from a software vendor. In most cases, from The Linux Store.
