scroll mouse problem

I have a M$ scroll mouse which is working fine in FC7 except that I'm unable to find out where I can set the control for the number of lines it scroll with the wheel. Would like to set it to move one line at a time, not several. Where is that setting? It isn't under system/hardware/mouse in gnome panel Thanks. I'm still a newbie so please give simple instructions. LOL Thanks. Bob

If you're using Firefox, go to "about:config" and look for "mousewheel.withnokey.numlines" to see what it is set to. Mine is at the default value of 1 line.

greg. Just found info under system/preferences/personal/file management/behavior in gnome panel. There was a button to check that said scroll one line at a time. Did taht and now I'll check it out. If it fails, I'll let you know. Bob

Gregg, guess i still have the problem. Checked mousewheel.withnokey.numlines and it is set to 1 as yours is. But it still scrols several lines at a time. In FC6, I think there was a place where you could set it to one line at a time I think. Is that function stll available in FC7? And where is it. My above system/preferences. etc .. didn't work as I had hoped. That was my mistake. Misread it. Sorry. Thanks for the help. Have checked system/preferences/hardware/mouse. The "mouse box' that appears has no way to fix the scrolling. Thanks again. Bob

Update with scrollmouse. If I hold down the Alt key and then scroll, it will go one line at a time as I wanted. but if I don't hold any key down at all, it scroll 3 or 4 lines at a time, even though it's set as above in about:config. The mousewheel.withnokey.numlines is set to 1. Any ideas how to get it to scroll 1 line at a time without holding any key? Thanks. I'm a newbie, so if I have to change anything in about:config, I'll need instructions on how to change it. Thanks again. benjie1

Still having trouble with the scroll wheel moving a few lines at a time. Can't find anywhere that lets me set it to one line at a time. Set about:config as above, but still no luck. Thanks again. benjie1
