A few easy* questions

*Hopefully

I've got a half-laptop, that is the screen died, so i took it off. It's just the keyboard/mouse bit with all the inards underneath it. Sort of like an uber-portable desktop that i can plug into any monitor...

I've had it working with XP and Ubuntu, and now have F7 on there with Beryl.

My first simple question is how do i get beryl to startup when Fedora does?

second question! Because it thinks it's a laptop, it also thinks it has a laptop screen, which was 1280x800. How do i get it to go to a normal 4:3 resolution? 1280x1047 or similar? The System>Admin>Display wont let me select any normal resolutions, and when i seleect anything else, it say somethign about restarting an X Server?

3rdly! Wifi, is there a quick and dirty way to set up a wifi card? I remember having to jump thorugh hoops to get it to work on Ubuntu, ndiswrapper an all that jazz. As well as finding the right drivers and stuff.

I'm a little bit savvy with linux (ie...i installed it) But may need a few laymans terms to help me. Anyhelp would be much appreciated. Thanks!

P.s. is there any freaken way to beat 4-in-a-row?!?!

okay for the fiirst question i might have to get back to you, it's in a file called rc.d but i don't know the exact location anymore (i thought /etc but i'm not sure) use a search query for it

if you edit your xorg.conf to give you those resolutions it should do fine (location is /etc/X11/xorg.conf you can only do this as root)

and wifi is a big if it all depends on which card, which drivers, which firmware, which company, the age of the card etcetera that might take you some researching

The x server basically runs the display. All you have to do to restart it is log off, then back on.

1. To start beryl on startup, go to Main Menu=>System=>Preferences=>More Preferences=>Sessions OR run "gnome-session-properties" from command line. Then Sessions dialog window will open, there click on "Startup programs"=>"Add"=>add the command "beryl" & press OK, next time beryl will run when your fedora starts.
2. For screen-resolution, you need to selelct appropriate Monitor type from "Hardware" tab, in your case you can select Generic LCD/CRT display, whatever your monitor is, with 1280x1024 resolution & then come to "settings" tab & you can be able to select 1280x800 resolution, Just log-off & login & see it works or not.
3. wifi-radar is a tool that can help you to configure your wireless-lans. I don't have much technical details about it, but it may help you.

i tried changing the hardware of the monitor, which i did, it's a crt with 1280x1024, but it still doesn't give me an option above 1280x800. I've tried loging in and out. It keeps asking me to reset the X server again.
