Hardware or bootup????

I installed FC1 fine but when it comes to boot up it freezes on the prompt hda: attached ide-cdrom driver.
its a 24x IDE cdrom

I have had this problem.

I would unplug the drive, and see if it boots OK. Then if that fixes it, check to see if the cd-rom drive has the right setting, i.e. master or slave, or switch it around a bit.
