how to install KDE and GNOME on Fedora 7 (together)

hi, I'm new to the fedora but i decided to give it a try. first i installed the 7-i386-dvd but it comes with gnome and i like kde. then i restarted with the kde-live cd but this time it installed only the kde deleting gnome. so can someone explain how to install the gnome-dvd with all the software and then just add the kde software to it?

I like the kde more than gnome but there are some very good gnome apps which i don't want to lose. I acctually want the kde look with all of it plus all the gnome apps. (only the ngome-look to be deleted). In the opensuse10.2 there was such an option at the end of the istallation process: just to choose your dekstop-manager and this didn't reflect the installed packages.

The installation DVD comes with both Gnome and KDE. Choose "Customize now" on the software selection screen and you can choose both desktops: http://docs.fedoraproject.org/instal...selection.html
You can also add either of the desktops (or XCFE) after the installation using the software management program.

I knew it was somewhere in there but I thought the customize software was just to choose which packages get installed and which don't. I'll reinstall it once again.

No need to reinstall. Just go to add/remove software, click on Desktop environments, check the kde and Gnome buttons, and hit apply. It will download a ton of stuff.
