Unhappy Asus P5B Deluxe Fedora 7

I have
4Gig Coursair Ram
Dual Core 2.8 cpu
Winfast 7600GT Video
400Gig SATA

When I start installation, for a start I can't get graphical instal. Crazy it's an nvidia card...

Then I Install with Text mode, no worries. Until reboot, grub didn't install properly.

Boot into rescue mode, cant chroot /mnt/sysimage. Corrupt install.

Try to reinstall again, cant format HDD at all.

Reinstalled Ubuntu

Anyone had any luck installing Fedora 7 on this board?

I have a P5B-E, same chipsets, controllers etc.

I would have a look at the BIOS settings for things like AHCI and the Jmicron controller if you have issues picking up devices like HDD's and DVD drives.

For the video - i did have that issue with FC6, but F7 installed with the graphical installer straight away. I'm running an 8800GTS.

P5B-Dlx, 7600GT - no problem. Set AHCI on for best performance. Avoid the Jmicron sata ports for not. Use eth0 (there was a minor issue with the other sky/skge driver - probably fixed by now but ...?

*DO* check your install DVD - may be corrupt.
