Hi,
I just got finished loading Fedora 7 onto a Dell Optiplex GX620 with a Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express card.
This box ran fine with FC6 on it.
Now, when booting, and when I try to bring up ETH0, I get...
Determining IP information for eth0... failed; no link present. Check cable?
I've checked the cable, it is fine, the card is fine too. I have a light on the card, until the failure, then all lights on the NIC go out.
I've seen this before, but for the life of me can't remember the solution. I thought it had something to do with IPv6.
I am inside a corporate firewall and must use DHCP to connect. I tested things by assigning an IP address, and was able to get the card up, but I cannot operate like that, I was only able to do it as a test.
There is also a virbr0 when I do an ifconfig -a
Has anyone solved this problem, and remembers how they did it?
Thanks a ton!!!
