x1300 and radeon Fedora 7

I know the x1300 won't work with fglrx on Fedora 7 however I'm currently using the vesa drivers.

According to http://free3d.org/ website it says that I can use the radeon driver to get some 3d acceleration on my laptop.

I'm wondering if anyone else has got it working?
