Fedora 7 - 'Import Site' failed during setup

Upgrading an FC4 system using DVD (chksum is good)

Gettting the following python error after checking the disk

' Import Site' failed

file /usr/lib/python2.5/os.py

cannot import from curdir

Here's a bit more info, and maybe a Please Help cry since there wasn't a response the first time

When Anaconda is trying to start, this displays:

File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 30 in (module)
import sys, os, re
File "/usr/bin/python2.5/os.py", line 465, in "module"
class _Environ(UserDict.IterableUserDict):
AttributeError: "module" object has not attribute
install exited abnormally


I'm basically stuck. I've tried 2 iso's now (both checked out good, both passed the install check as well) and the hardware isn't anything special (FC4 runs A-OK as is anyway) , but the dependencies in trying to update some of the latest packages basically force an upgrade all around.

Any help is most appreciated.
