KDE notification area gone missing

In Gnome there is the notification area where the system update or the instant messenger program next to the clock, not the windows opened on the taskbar, but the notification icons of the programs that are running. . .I hope someone knows what I'm talking about.

In KDE, it has dissapeared.

I'm using Fedora 7.

Fedora 6 had that notification area, but not in Fedora 7.

Any idea what's wrong ?

Happened to me too.

The option to add the applet again to the panel was not available, or maybe I'm just really blind (usually it's done with add applet to panel...)

Anyway, I've overwritten $HOME/.kde/share/config/kickerrc with a fresh version and it restored the system tray applet.
