Caught signal 15, un-registering and exiting

My laptop shuts down every time I boot up FC7, with this in the logfile:

May 19 11:22:54 laptop hcid[1808]: Got disconnected from the system message bus
May 19 11:22:55 laptop rpc.statd[1756]: Caught signal 15, un-registering and exiting.
May 19 11:22:56 laptop pcscd: pcscdaemon.c:529:signal_trap() Preparing for suicide
May 19 11:22:57 laptop pcscd: hotplug_libusb.c:361:HPEstablishUSBNotifications() Hotplug stopped
May 19 11:22:57 laptop pcscd: readerfactory.c:1350:RFCleanupReaders() entering cleaning function
May 19 11:22:57 laptop pcscd: pcscdaemon.c:489:at_exit() cleaning /var/run
May 19 11:22:57 laptop kernel: Kernel logging (proc) stopped.
May 19 11:22:57 laptop kernel: Kernel log daemon terminating.
May 19 11:22:58 laptop exiting on signal 15

It worked fine in RC6 -- what could be the cause?

Matthew

Seems that there were a lot of references to your problem or problems of a similar nature. Hoped that you could gain some insight by reading through the posts, since I don't know the answer to your question.

Actually, that was going to be MY argument -- that there doesn't seem to be any thread about this issue yet.

I appreciate your help, but there isn't a solution currently posted on FedoraForum.org.

I looked over those 6 threads (2 of which I started...including this one) but they had nothing to do with this problem.

One of them was about a laptop suspend/power button causing a shutdown. My problem is LINUX causing a shutdown -- and only the latest Linux kernel, not Fedora 6 or OpenSuSE 10.1.

OpenSuSE 10.2, FC6 (updated), and FC7 all have the same problem, however.
