Yow!, no ethernet card, with a core 6 install from my old discs from last november. Does anyone know if there are new drivers for this chipset in the new versions, I can't download it cause I don't have a connection of course. The old core 6 doesn't show the ethernet card (a realtek RTL 8101 if I remember rightly) in the choices.
oh, lets see some more info: machine: HP DV6210 with the intel MOBO and chipset to run the core2duo 7300 processor. This chipset and processor must be ubiquitous in new lappies now, don't you think?
BTW: Ubuntu also installs with the alt-install disc (not the live cd) but crashes when it tries to drive the AGP card, also an integrated MOBO intel product. SO..... there seem to be some issues, it is possible that someone solved them already but please spare me the noapic, nolapic, noapci noirqpoll etc solution because it don't work on this baby. really
any other solutions?
