Always pops up this upgrade dialog, tells me around 250 upgrades need to be applied, is it necessary for FC6?
B/C those upgrades really huge, and needs a lot of time to download them all. Can I turn this feature off in FC6?

i don't know if you necessarily NEED them. It'd probably be a good idea though, if you're not planning to try out F7 next week. Just cause it pops up, doesn't mean it's going to automatically install them either. If anything let them install overnight
If you're not questioning my sanity, I'm not trying hard enough
The Fedora 6 packages that come on the CD/DVD are well over six months old and most have been updated now. Some for security reasons, some for patches to fix errors, and some for general improvements. If all your hardware and software is working and you're content with everything exactly as is, it's your choice to ignore them or pick and choose which ones you want. Perhaps Yumex would be a good tool to help make those selections ('yum install yumex') which can give you descriptions of what's ready for updates and how it relates to your system.
