Right now I'm just using whatever default F7 puts in.. I'm currently updating it as I just did a fresh install.. So i'll know in a bit... But basically consider my system a fresh install of F7 with a full update through YUM.. Bout as far as I am right now

In particular which are the differences? Do you have any link to send me?
I am running with the driver ati-x11-drv.i386 fglrx.
I don't have to install the xgl or I need it?
thank you a lot
What version of fedora are you using ?
What version of ati-x11-drv.i386 are you using ?
P.S At the moment the Livna driver seems to be easier to setup with compiz-fusion !!

Hi,
I am using ati-x11-drv.i386 8.42.3-2.fc7 installed from freshrpms
and fgrlx (see belov).
I disbled livna repository since in a topic on this site somebody told me they often conficts with the freshrpms. then during the procedure you suggest me some time ago
I installed the freshrpms so I did't want to mix with the lvn. repository.
So what should I do?
should I install xgl then compiz and beryl and compiz-fusion?
but which are the differences?
May I installed all them fromt the script at : http://nicofo.tuxfamily.org/dotclear...eryl-on-fedora
thank you a lot

You don't need XGL as the driver you are using has AIGLX instead .
Beryl and compiz-fusion clash so you can only have one of them .

The script is obsolete with the new ati driver, so don't use it

I have already said that you can't have both installed as the conflict ( I have already posted this info in my last post and if you choose to ignore it I wont give you any help at all )

I tried installing compiz-fusion from the link you gave me.
I did all that I found in the wiki of the website.
but when I try to run fusion-icon I have the error that you can see below.
I also tried to run the desktop effect from the system>preferences>Look and feel>desktop effects
but it says it is not possible to enable it.
What is wrong?
thank you

Hi,
here is the xorg.conf (see belov)
and I tried the LD......, something happened but I got the following messages in the shell..there is some failure:
anyway it seem that even if there are these failures compiz works
for example the cube effect works. While selecting some emerald themes
sometime I have some error output (not all the themes work).
the string you told me to execute with the fusion-icon, is it possible to write it in a script and keep it
there in order that the next time I can just run fusion-icon?
I mean the next time I want the effect how should I do wihtout running all the string?
I tryied the system>desktop effect but that doesn't work yet.
Thank you a lot, it's very beautiful

Make a startup script for it
gedit /home/*/.fusion-icon-start
then add this
Code:
#! /bin/bash
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/fglrx/libGL.so.1 fusion-icon
then add fusion-icon to sessions
Code:
gnome-session-properties
then add the path to your script
