SELinux screwed my FC6 installation, please help!!
Hello everybody.
Right now I am writing from my 'back door' Linux distribution in my desktop because SELinux screwed my main FC6 installation.
After many months using FC6 in this machine I decided it was safe enough to enable SELinux since all my software is already installed and SELinux would not interfere again, however, after enabling SELinux as Obedient (or Enforcing) and rebooting the machine I am completely unable to start a session on it: it says there was an internal error. None of the users the machine has under FC6 can do it either (neither in KDE, nor GNOME).
Fortunately all my files are OK (I have just checked) but I would like disable SELinux and be able to log in again.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Joe.

try adding this to grub.conf to disable selinux
Add selinux=0 to your kernel command line.

It worked. Thanks Leigh!!!
The first thing I did after logging in was disable SELinux once and for all.

It's not enough just to enable it, you also have to relabel your filesystem on reboot.
Sorry, I forgot: also you need to have correct policies installed or some of your programs may get blocked by SELinux.

When I enabled SELinux it told me that it would relabel my file system on reboot automatically (and that it could take time) but when I restarted apparently that process failed (it was accomplished in very little time) and the system would not let me log in. Anyway I am not very interested in using SELinux and as a matter of fact it is disabled in all my machines.
By the way I did not know you actually had to install policies yourself, I thought SELinux was supposed to do it itself.
Thanks.
Joe.
